CalFresh offering replacement benefits to Monterey County residents affected by shutoff

CalFresh recipients in Monterey County who were affected by the PG&E power shutoff over the weekend may be eligible for replacement benefits.

The county said residents could be eligible if the food was bought using CalFresh benefits in October and spoiled because of the recent outage.

To get replacement benefits, CalFresh recipients can call the Monterey County CB Care Center at 1-877-410-8823 or visit one of the DSS district office locations.

They include:

The Monterey County CB Care Center is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and there is automated self-service available after hours.
