Woman arrested on suspicion of throwing JUMP bike off West Cliff Drive

Santa Cruz police arrested a woman after a witness said she threw a JUMP bike off West Cliff Drive near Cowells Beach.

The witness called police, who responded to the scene and found 24-year-old Deandra Perez. Police said the Central Valley woman was intoxicated at the time, and a person with her gave officers a statement that backed up the witness’ story.

Perez was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication, vandalism and other charges and booked into the Santa Cruz County Jail.
