Central Coast schools closed Monday due to power shutoffs

UPDATE 10/28/2019: Six schools in the Pajaro Valley Unified School District will also be closed Monday because of the power outages. The district says that includes: Aptos High School, Aptos Junior High School along with Valencia, Rio del Mar, Calabasas and Bradley Elementary Schools.

PREVIOUS STORY: Several schools across the Central Coast will be closed Monday due to the Pacific Gas and Electric public safety power shutoffs.

In Santa Cruz County, San Lorenzo Valley Unified School District, Happy Valley Elementary School and Bonny Doon Elementary School will have no classes on Monday.

Happy Valley Elementary School District Superintendent Michelle McKinny told KION she anticipates school will be back in session on Tuesday.

In Monterey County, Aromas School in Aromas will be closed Monday.

In San Benito County, Anzar High School in San Juan Bautista will be closed on Monday.
