Monterey County Animal Services looking for owner of dog with carabiner clipped through skin
Monterey County Animal Services is looking for the owner of a dog that was found with a carabiner clipped through its skin.
MCAS said that on Aug.3, the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call about an injured dog in a culvert on Armstrong Road.
When deputies arrived, they found a 1-year-old male husky mix. The dog appeared to be attached to a chain that had clumps of concrete attached to it.
The dog was taken to an emergency veterinary clinic. There they found a carabiner-type clip that was clipped directly through the dog’s skin. The clip was removed and the dog is expected to make a full recovery.
MCAS is asking the public for help finding the dog’s owner or the person responsible for the injury. The shelter’s veterinarian said the clip had been there for more than 10 days and does not believe the injury was accidental.
If you have any information, you are asked to call MCAS at 831-769-8850.
