Marina gas station canopy collapses, crushing two cars at pumps

MARINA, Calif. (KION-TV) - The canopy at a Valero Gas Station in Marina collapsed Monday morning crushing two cars at has pumps.

The incident happened at the Valero Gas Station at the 3044 Del Monte Blvd in Marina. No one was injured, but two cars were trapped under the canopy.

An employee tells KION, the gas pumps remain closed but the food shop remains open. Additionally, he said a manager will be on hand later in the day to assess the damage and clean up process.

The canopy collapse comes as strong winds were impacting the area, however it remains unclear if that it what caused the incident.
