Santa Cruz police: Suspected DUI driver rear-ends patrol vehicle

A woman was arrested on suspicion of DUI after Santa Cruz police say she rear-ended one of their patrol SUVs.

It happened Monday at around 3:40 a.m. That is when police said 27-year-old Yesenia Pavez rear-ended the patrol vehicle near West Cliffe Drive and Merced Street.

Luckily, the SUV was parked, and because officers were responding to a call for service, it was unoccupied.

Pavez was arrested, and her vehicle was towed.
