King City holding recognition ceremony for retiring fire chief

King City’s city manager announced Monday that there will be a recognition ceremony in honor of the city’s retiring fire chief.

Chief George Young has served as the King City fire chief for five years and spent 31 years with the volunteer fire department.

In honor of his retirement, there will be a ceremony during Tuesday evening’s city council meeting. The reception will be at 5:30 p.m. in the city council chambers before the meeting starts at 6 p.m.

City Manager Steven Adams said the community is invited and encouraged to attend.
