Fake Publishers Clearing House note and check reported in Salinas

Salinas police said a person received a fake note suggesting it was from the Publishers Clearing House along with a check.

Police said the note was left in the potential victim’s mailbox and that the check was a counterfeit.

Officers also issued a reminder that you should not give out personal information over the phone, especially if you did not call them.
