MPUSD chosen for statewide early education grant

MONTEREY COUNTY, Calif. (KION-TV) - The Monterey Peninsula Unified School District was selected as a recipient of the Count Play Explore professional learning and coaching grant.

The grant would give the district $35,000 through 2027.

Of the 185 applicants, MPUSD was one of 30 chosen.

This money will be used to help support early science and math education, from birth through the third grade.

MPUSD said it has prioritized early education for more than a decade and will continue to do so to give the district's youngest learners the strongest possible start.
