Man struck and killed by train in Salinas

A man was struck and killed by a Union Pacific train in Salinas this morning just after 7 a.m.

Salinas police confirm the man died on the tracks near East Market Street and Pajaro Street.

Union Pacific is investigating the case.

The man’s identity has not been released.
