Fire burning near San Ardo oil fields

UpDATED 6/12/2019 10:43 p.m.: Cal Fire says the Ardo Fire is 100 percent contained at 43 acres.

PREVIOUS STORY: Cal Fire is fighting a 40 acre fire near San Ardo oil fields.

A Cal Fire spokesperson tells KION that the fire is at 70 percent containment.

Up to eight engines, a bulldozer, two tankers, air tactical and a helicopter were deployed.

Cal Fire says they have since released some of those resources as they have been able to better contain the fire.

One crew is currently fighting the fire.

This as local Cal Fire crews are helping to fight the 2,000 McMillan fire in San Luis Obispo County, that fire is 50 percent contained.
