BREAKING: Shooting on Santa Rita Street leaves one person wounded
UPDATE 7:21 a.m.: Salinas Police confirm at least one person was wounded in a shooting that happened on Santa Rita Street Friday morning.
Police responded to reports of there being a gunshot victim on Santa Rita near East Lamar Street at around 4 this morning.
When KION crews got to the scene there was a heavy police presence with CHP assisting searching nearby Bolivar Street and Santa Rita Elementary School, though it wasn’t specified what Police were looking for.
A man was observed being placed into a Salinas Police vehicle with what looked like handcuffs but police did not verify if that individual has been charged with any crime or was a suspect.
Salinas Police are still investigating for now.
