Volunteers serve those in need at Santa Cruz dinner
A special dinner bringing food to those in need this Christmas Day.
It’s the 3rd annual Christmas dinner put on in partnership with the Santa Cruz Homeless Services Center.
The Santa Cruz Museum of Art & History housed the event, an estimated 500 to 600 people were served.
Though the event is relatively young, the event is something many homeless in Santa Cruz have come to rely on.
“I’m here because I’m hungry,” said Eloise Mitchell who lives on the streets, “I know these people put on a great meal and I’m a museum and history buff so this is like being at home. I can already hear the classical music, I love it.”
Food wasn’t the only gift given, tables of warm clothes were available as well as some other gifts volunteers gave to specially selected people.
