California Assembly District 29 candidates, Mark Stone and Vicki Nohrden, in KION studio

California Assembly District 29 incumbent Mark Stone is running for re-election. The Democrat, first elected in 2012, is being challenged by Republican Vicki Nohrden.

AD 29 includes the cities along the Monterey Bay coastline (Carmel up through Santa Cruz). It also includes Carmel Valley, Prunedale, and a large part of the Santa Cruz Mountains (Boulder Creek and Scotts Valley).

Stone and Nohrden both sat down for one-on-one interviews with KION’s Aaron Groff, addressing topics, which include – the gas tax, affordable housing, protecting the Monterey Bay, water costs, and poverty.
