24-year-old man shot, killed near West Street in Salinas
A man was shot and killed in Salinas over Labor Day weekend.
According to Salinas Police, officers found 24-year-old Obed Orsonio suffering from at least one gunshot wound near the 100 block of West Street.
The shooting occurred around 12 a.m. Sunday.
Orsonio was taken to a local hospital for treatment but died from his injuries.
Investigators labeled 21-year-old Abran Rubio as the suspect.
“Officers searched the area and located Mr. Rubio attempting to hide in front of a nearby residence,” said Sgt. Danny Warner.
Rubio was arrested and booked into Monterey County Jail for murder.
Detectives are still looking into the motive for this crime.
