Car Week in high gear on the Central Coast

People from all around the world are gathered on the Central Coast for what’s become known as Car Week.

Events are taking place across Monterey County leading to the grand finale on Sunday, the Pebble Beach Concours d’ Elegance.

The first Concours d’ Elegance was held back in 1950 with the first Pebble Beach road race. It started as a very small event with only about two to three dozen cars on display. Over the years it has evolved into a much bigger event with an entire week dedicated to the latest and greatest in the automotive industry.

There will be more than a dozen events happening throughout the week including the following free events:

The Concours Auto Rally is Friday the 24th from noon to 5p.m. in Pacific Grove. The Porsche Club of America Werks Reunion also on Friday in Salinas from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

On Saturday, the popular Exotics on Cannery Row event will be from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Monterey along with the Concours d’Lemons in Seaside from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
