Salinas: Man killed in late night shooting

Salinas police detectives are looking into a homicide that happened overnight in Chinatown.

Officers responded to reports of a gunshot victim on Bridge St. at around 2:00 a.m. and found a 38-year-old man who had been shot multiple times. The victim was identified as Guadalupe Ramirez. Police provided medical aid and CPR, but Ramirez was pronounced dead at the scene.

The homicide is being investigated as gang related.

No suspect information was immediately available.
