Gulch Fire grows to 650 acres
UPDATE (6:40 P.M., 8/11/18)
Cal Fire says the Gulch Fire has grown to 650 acres, south of San Ardo. The fire is near Dead Mans Gulch Road and Sargents Road. The south Monterey County fire is now 50 percent contained, and forward progress has stopped.
PREVIOUS STORY:
Cal Fire is responding to a vegetation fire in the San Ardo area off Highway 101.
It was reported just before 2:30 Saturday afternoon.
The fire is at least 100 acres and spreading.
There are evacuations in the area, but the extent is not known yet.
It is reported to be about 10 miles from the highway and traffic is not affected.
