Wanted suspects busted with drugs, credit cards & stolen ID in Hollister
Two people wanted for crimes committed in Central California were busted with drugs, credit cards and a stolen ID in Hollister.
An officer with the Hollister Police Department spotted a suspicious car parked at Pacific Way and Madrone Drive around 11:32 a.m. Thursday. Two Los Banos residents, 30-year-old Federico Cortez and 32-year-old Rachael Campos were found in the car.
The officer discovered that Cortez and Campos had warrants out for their arrest from neighboring counties.
HPD said several baggies of suspected methamphetamine and other items used when selling drugs were found in the car. A driver’s license, credit cards and other stolen items were also in the vehicle.
“Officers were able to track down the owner of the cards and learn several fraudulent charges had been already been made on his bank card. The subsequent investigation revealed the items found inside the suspect’s car had been stolen out of a vehicle in Los Banos, Ca,” said Sgt. Don Pershall.
Both suspects were booked into San Benito County Jail.
