Monterey Bay Aquarium names baby penguin
UPDATE: 8/7/2018 3:12 p.m. Last week we told you about the Monterey Bay Aquarium needing help naming it’s baby penguin!
Well thanks to the 16,119 people that voted, the baby chick is now named Bixby!
The aquarium says she’ll be back with the rest of the colony in a few months after completing non-flight school behind the scenes.

The Monterey Bay Aquarium needs help naming a newborn penguin.
Folks at the MBA wanted the publics help so they created a poll. It’s down to four names for the baby girl; Beck after John Steinbeck, Bixby for Bixby Bridge in nearby Big Sur, Cypress after the native Monterey Cypress or Watson-short for Watsonville, which is home to many staff, volunteers and visitors.
