Power outage affects thousands near Capitola

Thousands of people are without power in Santa Cruz County.

According to Pacific Gas & Electric, the power outage affected 6,263 customers between Capitola, Live Oak and Soquel.

The outage occurred around 9 a.m. Tuesday.

PG&E has assigned a crew to assess the outage and expect to restore power by 12:45 p.m.

The cause of the power outage is unknown at this time.
