Salinas man ID’d in fatal crash on San Benancio Road
UPDATE: 5/29/2018 4:28 p.m. A driver killed in a car accident on San Benancio Road over the weekend has been identified.
According to the California Highway Patrol, 60-year-old Lawrence Robert Carroll of Salinas, was heading southbound in a white Chevrolet Silverado on San Benancio Road when he veered off the road and struck a power pole.
The force of the collision caused two power poles to fall.
CHP said the truck continued down the road and struck a large tree. Carroll was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators said impairment is believed to be a factor in this crash.
