Update: Driver dies in King City vehicle rollover accident

UPDATE: 4/10/2018 9:23 a.m. A vehicle rollover accident on Highway 101 in south Monterey County turned fatal.

The driver has been identified as a 67-year-old Berkeley man.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the man made an unsafe turn around 4:30 p.m. Monday and flipped his black 1998 Toyota Tacoma. His truck came to a stop in the center divide on Highway 101 near Jolon Road in King City.

The driver suffered major injuries and was taken to Mee Memorial Hospital where he later died.

Another rollover accident in King City sends one man to the hospital with major injuries.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident occurred on northbound Highway 101 near Jolon Road. Monday’s solo car accident temporarily shut down both southbound and northbound lanes.

All southbound lanes were reopened shortly after the accident occurred at 4:30 p.m.

Just one northbound lane remained closed while crews cleaned up debris.

Earlier, two women were sent to Natividad Medical Center after rolling their vehicle in a three car accident on Highway 101 in King City.
