Hollister patrol car gets rammed pursuing drive-by shooting suspect
A Hollister patrol car was rammed by another vehicle during a police pursuit through the city.
The pursuit began Friday, as patrol officers were chasing down a felony suspect of a drive-by shooting. One of the patrol cars en route to help with the police chase was hit by another car at the intersection of Sally Street and Fourth Street.
“Thankfully everyone involved in the collision was uninjured,” said Hollister PD.
The drive-by shooting took place Thursday afternoon in the 100 block of Gonzalez Drive. Sgt. Don Pershall told KION no one was hit and they believe the shooting was gang related.
Patrol officers eventually caught up to the suspect involved in Friday’s pursuit and took him into custody.
The department said they’d like this collision to serve as a reminder for drivers to pull to the right and stop when being approached by any emergency vehicle with red lights and sirens on.
