Rain advisory at Monterey County beaches

Health officials are urging the public not to go in the water at Monterey County beaches because of the recent rain on the Central Coast.

According to the Monterey County Health Department, a rain advisory has been posted for all the beaches. The public is being asked to avoid contact with the ocean for three days after a rain event.

This comes as a beach closure at Asilomar was lifted. Samples taken on March 12th showed safe bacteria levels. The beach was closed due to sewage that spilled into the bay.
