Two Salinas residents killed in Palm Springs accident
Two Salinas residents were killed in a crash near Palm Springs, on Saturday. Three others were also injured.
The Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner has identified the victims as 39-year-old Fernando Gonzalez, who died at the scene, and 25 year-old Ernesto Vega, who passed away at Desert Regional Medical Center.
California Highway Patrol says just after 1:00 a.m., a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe rolled over on Interstate 10. The vehicle was heading east when the driver lost control, causing it to overturn.
Six people were in the vehicle, three of them were not wearing seatbelts and were ejected from the SUV. CHP says all six are from Salinas.
Salinas business, Exclusive Ink, and friends of Gonzalez and Vega, created GoFundMe pages to help the families with expenses.

Investigators said neither drugs nor alcohol played a factor in the crash, but fatigue might have.
