Santa Cruz gang member busted with loaded handgun
An 18-year-old gang member was busted with a loaded handgun in Santa Cruz.
The Santa Cruz County Anti-Crime Team’s Gang Task Force was on their way to serve a weapons search warrant on Justin Castillo when they spotted him driving Thursday afternoon.
GTF officers pulled Castillo over on Soquel Avenue near La Fonda Avenue. While searching Castillo’s car, officers found a loaded 9mm semi-auto handgun in the center console.
During a search of Castillo’s home, officers came across gang writings and drawings along with a gun cleaning kit in his bedroom.
Castillo was arrested and booked into the Santa Cruz County Jail.
