Off-duty Salinas Fire Captain saves womans life
An off-duty Salinas Fire Captain saved the life of a female who collapsed during a meeting.
Salinas city officials said the incident took place earlier this month at the Cayucos Fire Protection District Board Meeting.
Captain Bill Stallcup quickly went to help the woman and found her without a pulse or breathing. With the help of another off-duty firefighter from Monterey, Captain Stallcup used an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and began CPR. City officials said the firefighters detected a pulse and the woman was taken to the hospital.
The woman was released from the hospital a few days later with no complications from the cardiac arrest episode.
