Felon arrested for possession of firearms in Marina

On Tuesday, June 20, authorities recovered countless rounds of illegally possessed ammunition, two handguns and two rifles at a home in Marina.

Monterey County Sheriff’s Stolen Vehicle investigators, Santa Cruz County investigators, the Monterey County District Attorney’s Office and the Monterey County Probation Department conducted a parole compliance check on 35-year-old, Ronald L. Moon in the 200 block of Park Circle.

Moon is a prior convicted felon and cannot have firearms and ammunition.

Moon was arrested and taken to Monterey County Jail on gun, ammunition and probation violation charges.


Seized during the search:
1) Beretta, 9mm, semi-automatic pistol
2) Smith and Wesson, .40 caliber revolver
3) CMMG AR-10, 7.62 military rifle
4) Ruger 10/22 rifle
5) Over 3,200 rounds of various calibers of ammunition
