Five gang members arrested in Watsonville
Five gang members are in jail after Watsonville police found them with drugs and a loaded gun.
Police were doing a check of a known gang area on the 100 block of E. Front street, when they came across the suspects in a car acting suspicious. Police say they were trying to hide drugs when they arrived so they did a search of the car.
Officers found marijuana, an open container of alcohol and supplies for smoking the pot. During the search officers also found a loaded handgun.
Mikey Diaz, Ivan Franco, Jose Ramirez, Edward Tovar, and Salina Sanchez were arrested for possession of the loaded firearm and a gang enhancement. They were all booked into the county jail.
