Shark sighting near shore in Santa Cruz

An investigation is underway Friday evening, after Santa Cruz Police say a shark was seen near shore on East Cliff and 34th Streets.

Officers say multiple people called the department around 5:20 p.m. saying the shark was dying. Officers instructed people to leave the area and stop taking pictures as a precaution.
