Hollister downtown shooting arrest

Hollister police arrested a man for shooting in the 500 block of San Benito Street on Monday. On that day, a business meeting being held in a nearby office became heated between several people attending.

Two attendees left the meeting and shots were fired at a car parked along San Benito Street as they were driving away. The vehicle belonged to one of the meeting attendees.

Detective Martinez investigated the crime, which included a review of downtown camera footage. His investigation revealed Adrian Amezcua (38) as the suspect in this case.

Surveillance was conducted at Amezcua’s home and police were able to contact and arrest him during the early morning hours without incident. Detectives then executed a search warrant at his home.

Amezcua was booked at the San Benito County Jail and he is currently out on bail. Anyone with information about either of these cases is asked to call detective Martinez at the Hollister Police Department at 636-4330.
