Monterey Co. Sheriff’s Office: Two Sureno gang members arrested
A month-long investigation in Monterey County ended with the arrest of two gang members and several other men found with weapons and drugs, according to the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office.
Detectives served a search warrant at 10121 Blue Larkspur Lane in Monterey on March 30th.
According the Sheriff’s Office, Sureno gang member Jesus Gomar hid in the attic after discarding a loaded, stolen .45 caliber handgun. Gomar was wanted for attempted homicide and parole violations.
Also arrested, Sureno gang member Israel Mendoza. The Sheriff’s Office says Mendoza – out on bail – was found with ammunition, meth and drug paraphernalia.
Three other men were also taken into custody on a variety of charges including possession of illegal firearms and meth. All five men were taken to Monterey County Jail.
Kerri Rivera was found to be on probation and possessed methamphetamine and meth ingesting paraphernalia and Noely Puga was revealed to have an outstanding arrest warrant for methamphetamine possession.
