Meth found after driver aroused police suspicion in Castroville
Police discovered Meth and drug paraphernalia when they were on routine patrol in Castroville last night.
Monterey County Sherrif’s Office Commander John Thornburg said officers noticed a suspicious vehicle when a white car pulled out of a closed business parking spot.
According to the Sheriff’s office, the driver kept looking back at a deputy and drove around in circles to try and shake off the deputy. This behavior prompted the deputy to call dispatch and discover the vehicle was stolen.
Around this time, the driver threw a clear plastic bag out of the window containing a large amount of drugs. The deputy turned on his lights and sirens and the driver continued to drive in circles.
When the stolen car finally stopped, the driver told the deputy he saw the running vehicle in front of his house and decided to go for a ride and pick up his friend, since it didn’t seem to belong to anyone. A meth pipe was also located inside the stolen vehicle.
