Bomb squad disarms homemade explosive device in Santa Cruz
The Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office’s bomb squad disarmed a homemade explosive device in Santa Cruz Wednesday afternoon.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, someone left the homemade M-100 type explosive in a parking lot on the 9000 block of Soquel Avenue.
No one was hurt, but the sheriff’s office wants to remind you that homemade explosives and fireworks are dangerous and can cause serious injuries.
The Sheriff’s Office said an observant community member noticed this device and alerted authorities.
