Lake San Antonio to reopen after winter rainfall

Lake San Antonio will be back open soon after being closed since July 2015 because of the drought.

The significant rainfall has helped bring water levels at the lake to 50% which has allowed officials to reopen the lake.

Monterey County and the California Parks Company said the lake will reopen in phases. The first phase will be a soft opening of South Shore on weekends only. The South Shore will open at 7:00 a.m. on Friday, April 14th and close on Sunday, April 16th at 8:00 p.m.

The soft opening period will last from April 14th through May 14th. The lake will be open on Fridays at 7:00 am to Sunday at 8:00 p.m.

The second phase will start on May 19th. The South Shore Park and lake will then be open seven days a week.
On June 9th, the North Shore park for camping and boating will also be back open.
