String of laundry room burglaries in Marina, police urge public to call 911

Marina Police are investigating a spike in laundry room burglaries at apartment complexes across the city.

The department says since February 9th, officers have been called out to a total of 12 burglaries. During the crimes, the suspects forced open the coin box on the coin operated washers.

Police say they have found multiple witnesses who were able to provide some information, but none called 911 while the actual crime was taking place. Officers say that’s because witnesses told them they were afraid of becoming involved.

The Marina Police Department wants to remind the public that callers can remain anonymous, and that calling 911 can help officers catch the criminals more quickly and prevent multiple burglaries.
