Nacimiento-Fergusson construction set to begin in Monterey County
Construction to repair the failing section of Nacimiento-Fergusson Road will begin on Monday, according to Forest Service officials.
Officials said a construction schedule is set and contractors will move in and set up traffic control to start construction.
According to officials, construction will take place Monday through Saturday, depending on weather conditions. Construction is expected to last for 30 days but if conditions are good, the project may take less than three weeks, officials said.
The hours during which the road will be open and closed are as follows:
-Open from 6:00 p.m. to 7 a.m. and from 11:30 a.m. to noon. The road will also be open on Sundays.
-Closed from 7:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and from noon to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
Officials said they are striving to have the project completed as soon as possible to allow traffic to safely resume use of this important road.
