Three children rescued from Royal Oaks mudslide

Three children were rescued from a mudslide in the Royal Oaks area Friday afternoon, according to North Monterey County Fire.

Crews said a major mudslide was reported at a home in the 600 block of Lewis Rd., just after 12:30 p.m.The area has faced a lot of weather-related damage over the past week, including a sinkhole earlier in the week according to Fire Chief Chris Orman.

More crews are on the way to the scene. KION will have more on this story when information becomes available.
