UPDATE: Victims of Salinas double homicide appear to have no gang ties

UPDATE: 5/12/16 7:00 a.m.

Salinas Police say both victims are from Salinas and male, one 41-years-old and the other 32-years-old. Their identities are being withheld until their families are notified.

Police say the men do not appear to have any known gang ties.While several people heard the shots fired, but there are few witnesses to the shooting. It is not known if the victims actually knew each other or why they were in the area. It is too early in the investigation to categorize these homicides as gang related.

Salinas police are investigating the third and fourth homicides of the week.

It happened around 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday on La Cuesta Court in East Salinas.

Police say two men in their 30’s were shot multiple times while standing outside.

Both have been pronounced dead.

Police have no suspect information at this time.

There have been 15 homicides in Salinas this year.
