Hollister police looking for check forgery suspect

Hollister police said investigators are looking for information on a man who tried to forge a check and was seen in surveillance video at a local business.

Police said the man was inside the business on January 25, in the 1200 block of San Juan Road. The man used a fake permanent resident ID card to try and cash a forged payroll check.

Police said a store employee noticed discrepancies in the check and called police, but the man ran off.

The man is described as being in his 20’s or early 30’s, black hair, brown eyes, about 5’6″ and about 180 pounds.
