High surf advisory hitting Monterey and Santa Cruz County coastlines

A high surf advisory is creating safety concerns for Santa Cruz and Monterey county beaches. The Santa Cruz Harbor Patrol is asking people to stay out of the water on Friday.

The City of Santa Cruz will also begin repairs on West Cliff Drive because of coastal erosion, between Woodrow Ave. and David Way.

The high surf advisory lasts until 4AM Saturday.
