Capitola Wharf damaged by high surf, only open to pedestrians
On Friday, a piling under the Capitola Wharf washed away, according to Capitola Public Works. Opening of the wharf was delayed Friday until about noon after repairs were made.
Through the weekend, the wharf will only be open to pedestrians. Public cars will not be allowed, only employees who work on the wharf will be allowed to drive on it.
City crews said they’re working to put up some warning signs by Monday, so drivers know the risk of being on the wharf.
