Homicide victim’s body found in Santa Cruz County

San Jose Police detectives found the body of a homicide victim in Santa Cruz County.

The San Jose Police Department said detectives received information about the possible whereabouts of 28-year-old Kyle Myrick. Their investigation then revealed that the body was disposed in the Jameson Creek Road area in Santa Cruz County.

The Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the scene to help.

Around 4 p.m. on Thursday, investigators found Myrick’s body in that area.

According to police, officers discovered Myrick was missing after getting a call about a welfare check on Friday, January 22 nd .

Police later discovered evidence of a crime scene.

The suspect, 39-year-old Steve Hlebo, was arrested on Saturday, January 23 rd in Los Altos.

Hlebo was booked into the county jail for murder.
