Water rescues on the rise

Dangerous ocean conditions are keeping Central Coast water rescuers busy.

The Central Coast Fire Protection District says rescues are on the rise thanks to the high surf, driven by El Nio.

On Monday, tragedy struck at Bonny Doon Beach when a wave swept two UCSC students out into the ocean.Shireen Agha Ahsan, 19, andAhmad Solaiman Nourzaie, 25, still haven’t been found.
