UPDATE: Gas leak in Santa Cruz now contained

UPDATE 1/20/16 11:40 P.M. : The gas main leak in Santa Cruz that closed several streets in the area of Kenneth and Bay has been contained. All roads are back open. The cause of the leak is under investigation.

PREVIOUS STORY:

Santa Cruz Police closed off an area impacted by a gas main leak Wednesday night.

Bay Street at Kenneth is closed.

Police tell News Channel 5 The Santa Cruz Police Department, Santa Cruz Sheriff’s Office and Santa Cruz Fire Department are on scene right now.

The California Highway Patrol is also helping with traffic control.
