Super Bowl champion visits former school, North Salinas High

It’s not everyday the lesson plan includes a former Super Bowl champion at the front of the classroom. But that’s exactly what happened Tuesday at North Salinas High School.

Former San Francisco 49ers Super Bowl Champion running back and kick returner Del Rodgers returned to his old stomping grounds. He presented the school with a commemorative Wilson Golden Football.

The visit was made possible by the Super Bowl High School Honor Roll, a national program. The program honors schools who have shaped football history in some shape or form. The NFL Foundation is a part of the program, providing the schools with the opportunity to apply for grants to grow their football programs.

News Channel 5 will have more on how students reacted to the visit tonight at 6 p.m.
