Santa Cruz transients arrested for stolen vehicle

On Tuesday, Santa Cruz Police recovered a pickup that had been stolen by two transients.

Late Tuesday, a man called 911 when he recognized his stolen blue 1988 Ford F15 pickup truck parked at a local restaurant. As Santa Cruz Police Officers were in route, the stolen truck drove away traveling northbound on Morrissey Blvd. The victim followed and relayed the information to SCPD Dispatchers.

The pickup was eventually stopped and officers took 40-year olds Jennifer Howard and Perry Greer, both Santa Cruz Transients.

Both Howard and Greer were in possession of methamphetamine and narcotic paraphernalia. There was also a large quantity of property in the back of the truck including a black Specialized mountain bike, which was also confirmed as stolen.

Jennifer Howard was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle, driving with a suspended license, possession of a stolen bicycle and possession of narcotic paraphernalia. Perry Greer was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of narcotic paraphernalia, possession of a stolen bicycle and violation of probation.

Both were booked into Santa Cruz County Jail.
