Road construction on Highway 68 will cause delays Wednesday
Caltrans is busy realigning the road and adding a three way signal at the intersection of Highway 68 and Hitchcock Road. On Tuesday, project engineers said the construction will not only enhance safety but improve traffic flow.
“The original Hitchcock Road had one lane that turned left and right on the 68. This new road will have separate lanes going in each direction,” said Caltrans Resident Engineer Tyler Lavering.
The intersection of Highway 68 and Hitchcock will be closed Wednesday morning beginning at 8:30AM to 4:00PM in the afternoon. Motorists headed west on Highway 68 will detour onto Reservation Road, and drivers headed east will detour onto Blanco Road.
