Woman hit and killed by train in Gonzales, police said
UPDATE 10/14/15 2:01 PM: Gonzales Police said a woman was walking on train tracks near Alta St. Wednesday afternoon in Gonzales and was killed by a train.
Responding officers said an Amtrak train sounded the horn but the woman did not move and was hit.
The woman’s age and identity are not known yet.
PREVIOUS STORY: The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office said deputies are responding to a person who was hit and killed by a train in the 400 block of Alta St. in Gonzales Wednesday afternoon.
Deputies said they aren’t sure if the woman was lying or walking on the tracks.
